The people of Augsburg have reason to look forward: the famous Perlachturm is soon to get new climbing facilities to give visitors a breathtaking view of the city.<\/p>\n
The precise 3D model of the Perlachturm was created by the expertise of Vokal+Partner in the MAP INDOOR partner network, which served as the basis for design and planning and will continue to be used.<\/p>\n
Plans include the installation of a new steel staircase that will offer visitors a unique experience inside the tower. From stair landings at different points of the compass, visitors will be able to experience the city up close, reaching a spectacular climax when they step out onto the open viewing lantern. The Perlach Tower will thus not only become a “true” landmark, but also an unforgettable experience for all visitors.<\/p>\n
To implement the project, the engineering firm Vokal+Partner Beratende Ingenieure mbB was already commissioned by the city of Augsburg in 2017 to carry out a complete survey of the Perlachturm, including the interior, the exterior fa\u00e7ade and the surrounding area.<\/p>\n
For the renovation and reconstruction measures of the tower, the city needed deformation-compliant survey plans as a starting point for the planning.
In 2022, the architects’ association Jasarevic Bachhuber approached Vokal+Partner again with a request for a 3D model of the Perlachturm to be created using the 3DMax software. Using the data collected in 2017 (point cloud), MAP INDOOR created the requested 3D model of the Perlachturm.<\/p>\n
The result is a perfect basis for design, planning and the implementation of the measures. The redevelopment of the Perlachturm should not only raise architectural and urban planning potentials, but also herald a new era of experiencing Augsburg’s landmark.<\/p>\n
